Missing files and duplicates
Re-link moved songs, clear out missing ones and find duplicates.
When songs move
If you move or rename a song inside your library folders, Paatu Cassette notices that it turned up elsewhere (same size, title and length) and re-links it. The song keeps its playlists, favourite, rating and play count.
Songs that are really gone
- Open Settings and find Missing Files. It says how many songs can’t be found on disk.
- Click Show to see each song’s title, artist and old location.
- If they’re gone for good, click Remove from Library and confirm. They also leave any playlists. Nothing on disk is touched.
Find duplicates
- In Settings › Duplicates, click Find Duplicates.
- Songs that share a title, artist and length are listed in groups.
- Use the Show in Finder button next to each copy to decide which to keep and tidy up in Finder.
